The Moon: Feeling, Home and Rhythm
The Moon describes what we need to feel safe, and the gentle tides of our inner life.
If the Sun is the self we are becoming, the Moon is the self that needs care. Its sign describes our emotional nature, our instinctive responses and what helps us feel at home.
The inner tides
The Moon moves through all twelve signs in about twenty-seven days, faster than anything else in the sky. Our moods move too. The Principle of Rhythm reminds us that feelings rise and fall like tides, and that every low passes.
Needs, not weaknesses
Someone with the Moon in Taurus may need comfort and steadiness; someone with the Moon in Gemini may need conversation and variety. Knowing your Moon is a kind way to understand your needs without judging them.
Monday
Monday is the Moon’s day, a fitting time to check in with how you really feel and to tend whatever nourishes you.
A practice
Each evening this week, note one word for how you felt that day. At the week’s end, look for the pattern. What helped? What drained you? This is how we learn our own tides.
